CHOREOGRAPHY

Rebecca Huntman's dances layer the African, Caribbean, European and Middle Eastern roots of Latin dance with contemporary Jazz and Hip Hop influences and live music performances, creating a rich choreographic style that has been heralded as hypnotic, vibrant and deeply sensual.

Huntman has traveled extensively throughout Latin America to research Latin dance, working with master choreographers in Cuba, Brazil, and Argentina. In 2002 she founded the professional dance company One World Dance Theater, serving as artistic director until 2007. Her producing credits include What Moves You? and Deep Draw, both performed at Chicago’s Athenaeum Theatre, and Dance Chicago's Dance Everywhere series.
